Online Lessons – Individual/Group Lessons from the comfort of your own home/country
For those who prefer to learn their guitar, bass, ukulele or music theory online, I offer individual lessons usually within the following GMT (UK) times
- Mon-Fri 09:00-23:00
- Sat 09:00-19:00
- Sun 12:00-19:00
but I am flexible to change, especially for non-European based students.
I also run 18 different group lessons split by instrument, age & level, most of which are available online. View the group lessons page to view which can be taken online.
My set up
I aim to provide an experience closely similar to face-to-face lessons
- 720p main webcam + 2 other cams + guitar-cam mount (to enable you to view different guitar angles)
- fibreoptic internet
- USB mixer (with my mic, instruments & backing tracks all into it as to transmit multi-chnl audio as 1 soundwave to you)
- loop station with an incorporated drum beat library (to record & loop any instrument before broadcasting it eg record a rhythm guitar to then solo over it, to rap like an MC, etc etc)
- choice of 4 languages (English, Italian, German or Maltese)
- theory & harmony lessons can be taught using a combination of software, onscreen music, & instrument (I use synth piano, guitar, bass or ukulele, but can relate to whatever your instrument is to help you identify melodies or chords)
Your requisites
So lessons run closely similar to face-to-face lessons, best if you had the following
- strong broadband connection (fibre-optic is best, but if not pls connect your PC to your modem via an ethernet cable not WiFi)
- Google Chrome (or google hangouts extension if using another browser)
- video broadcasting software (zoom client for meetings, skype, google hangouts, viber, or similar) set to accept files. I strongly suggest Zoom as it is the better of the lot, with Skype already installed for the rare occasion Zoom offers hiccups. Here are vidz how Zoom & Skype work.
- electric instruments: a jack from your PC to your amp, so you control PC & guitar volumes from same amp!
- acoustic instruments: a set of external speakers (not your laptop’s) set up to look at the computer
- once you book your 1st lesson, I give you access to Your Google Classrooms to find cheap purchase links & tips re jacks, speakers, light, mics, etc. to improve your set-up.
- a desktop/laptop (not a tablet/mobile) so we can switch screens & still view each other (something tablets/mobiles do not allow).

£20 for 30min, £30 for 50mins (or equivalent in your currency)
