Can’t get to the studio? I’ll come to you. Guitar, bass, ukulele, music theory or harmony — taught in your own home anywhere within TfL Zone 3 — SE16, SE1, SE8, SE13, SE14, SE15, SE17 and E14 — or wherever your friends and colleagues gather.
Would you love lessons in guitar, bass, ukulele, music theory or harmony, but can’t easily travel to SE16 London where I teach? No problem — you’ve got three good options. Guitar lessons at home are the most popular of the three: same teaching, same method, just at your kitchen table instead of my studio.

Lessons at your London home
I come to you anywhere within TfL Zone 3 for face-to-face one-to-one lessons — same great teaching, none of the travel for you.
Face-to-face online
Learn live from anywhere in the world over Zoom or similar, with my multi-camera studio set-up bringing the lesson to your screen.
Group course at your venue
Get some mates or colleagues interested and I’ll run a course at your office, school or local centre — anything from a small room to a hall, even your back garden. You earn cash for every student who enrols.
The areas I travel to
My studio is on Tillett Square in Rotherhithe, SE16, two minutes from Canada Water — which puts the Jubilee line and the Overground on my doorstep and most of South East London within half an hour. These are the areas I regularly travel to for guitar, bass, ukulele and music-theory lessons.
- SE16 — Rotherhithe, Canada Water, Surrey Quays. My home patch, and mostly walkable. Lessons here rarely carry a surcharge worth talking about.
- SE1 — Bermondsey, Borough, London Bridge. One stop on the Jubilee line to Bermondsey, two to London Bridge, so early-afternoon slots work well.
- SE17 — Walworth, Elephant & Castle. The 1 bus runs there directly from Canada Water, and the 53 and 453 cover the Walworth Road end.
- SE8 — Deptford. A short hop down Evelyn Street on the 47, 188 or 199, or the Overground to New Cross.
- SE14 and SE15 — New Cross, New Cross Gate, Peckham. Straight through on the Overground from Canada Water and Surrey Quays.
- SE13 — Lewisham, Ladywell. The 199 or 47 bus, or the DLR down from Canary Wharf.
- E14 — Canary Wharf, Isle of Dogs. One stop north on the Jubilee line, which makes weekday evenings easy here.
Somewhere else inside TfL Zone 3? Ask anyway. If I can reach you and get back around the rest of the day’s lessons, I will — it is the travel time, not the postcode, that decides it. Beyond Zone 3, online lessons reach you at the same rate as the studio with no travel at all.
Whichever area you are in, it is the same teaching: electric, acoustic and classical or flamenco guitar, bass, ukulele and music theory and ear training, beginner to advanced, with an RGT-registered and DBS-checked tutor.
What a home visit costs
At-your-place lessons are the standard £40 per 50-minute one-to-one lesson, plus a small travel surcharge to cover my time on the road:
- £15 for a Mon–Fri start between 11am and 2pm
- £25 for Mon–Fri from 3pm onward, and all weekend times
The surcharge is shared or waived entirely if you introduce students near you who take lessons the same day, just before or after you — back-to-back lessons at a centre carry no surcharge at all. Block discounts aren’t available on outcalls.
